Connection with Intention
You Are More Than Your Title. So Is Your Network.
The Fold is a curated professional community where experience is valued, introductions are intentional, and opportunity isn't reserved for those with the biggest titles.
Come for perspective. Stay for the people.
Membership is free. Every application is read by a person, so the community stays intentional.

A Different Kind of Professional Community
Curated Connections. Without the Hierarchy.
We believe the best conversations happen when different experiences, perspectives, and ambitions meet. At The Fold, your contribution matters more than your title, and meaningful relationships matter more than the size of your network.
Intentional Connections
Meet people based on shared interests, goals, experiences, and opportunities to help one another.
Perspective Without Hierarchy
Learn from established executives, emerging leaders, founders, operators, and professionals navigating what's next.
Reciprocal Mentorship
Everyone has something to teach and something to learn. Experience flows in more than one direction.
Opportunity Through Community
Discover career opportunities, collaborations, introductions, and new perspectives through genuine relationships.
The Fold Philosophy
Not Another Networking Platform.
The Fold is a community built around relationships that mean something.
What we don’t believe
- Collecting contacts
- Pitching strangers
- Measuring professional value by titles
What we believe
- Opening doors
- Sharing experience
- Strengthening emerging voices
- Stewarding good leadership
Connection first.
Contribution always.
Growth together.
The Fold is not a lead-gen channel, and not for anyone collecting contacts. It is a community — with a Career Exchange, cross-industry mentorship, and Circles — built so the right people actually meet.
Who Belongs at The Fold?
Different Paths. Shared Ambition.
There's no single definition of professional success, and there's no single type of person who belongs here.
- 01
The experienced executive seeking fresh perspectives
- 02
The emerging leader building confidence and connections
- 03
The founder or entrepreneur building something meaningful
- 04
The professional navigating a career transition or reinvention
- 05
The experienced contributor who wants to mentor, collaborate, and give back
We don't believe you need a particular title to have a seat at the table. We believe you need curiosity, integrity, and a willingness to contribute.
How introductions work
A Connection, Curated for You.
Not a directory to scroll or an open inbox to manage. One thoughtful introduction at a time, with the reason it matters to both of you.
Share
Share your professional goals, expertise, and what you're seeking.
Illustrative example
Goal
Build confidence leading a team through change
Offers
A decade running multi-site care teams
Discover
Discover a thoughtfully recommended connection with an explanation of mutual relevance.
Illustrative example
Dana, Team Leader · SaaS
- Has guided teams through organizational change
- Wants a care operator's perspective on supporting people
- Both value candid feedback
Connect
Request an introduction, connect, and follow up on the outcome.
Illustrative example
"Two of you should talk. Dana has walked your path; you can help with hers."
Three weeks later: "Our second call led to an invitation to advise her leadership team."
Examples are illustrative only and do not show real members or member activity.
Networking directories
Endless profiles to search. You do the filtering, and most messages go unanswered.
Open messaging communities
Busy feeds and group chats. The loudest voices get noticed; real relationships rarely form.
The Fold
Members are approved, Blueprints are read, and every introduction comes with a reason and a follow-up.

Meet the Founder
Hillary Block
A connector by nature. A founder by intention.
Hillary Block has built her career across senior living operations, sales, business development, strategic partnerships and consulting. Along the way she became the person colleagues called when they needed the right introduction — a natural connector who believes the right relationship can change a career. She created The Fold to make those introductions intentional, and to give more professionals a place where connection, mentorship and growth come first.

Questions
Before you apply
- Who can join The Fold?
- People from every industry and career stage are welcome to apply, including students, emerging professionals, experienced leaders, and people exploring a new chapter. You don't need a senior living background. Every application is reviewed for genuine interest in connection, contribution, and our Community Standards.
- Can I find a mentor outside my industry?
- Yes. Members can seek or offer mentorship across industries. Shared goals, relevant experience, and different perspectives can matter more than a shared job title. Tell us what you'd like to learn or contribute in your Connection Blueprint; mentorship depends on mutual interest and availability, not a guaranteed match.
- Is The Fold live yet?
- Yes, and it's early. We're welcoming our first 25 founding members now. The first three Circles launch with them, and founding members help choose facilitators and shape topics.
- What does the application review look for?
- A clear sense of what you're working toward, what you'd be willing to share with others, and a genuine interest in relationships over contacts. Titles and company size don't decide it.
- How long does the review take?
- Every application is read by a person. We reply by email, usually within two weeks.
- Is membership really free?
- Yes. Individual membership is free forever, with no credit card required. Core community benefits include intentional introductions, mentorship opportunities, shared learning, and resources. Paid plans are separate and apply only to hosting a private Circle or an organization space.
- What does a first introduction look like?
- One member, chosen for you, with a short note on why you two should talk and what each of you might offer. You decide whether to connect, and we check in on how it went.
- What am I expected to put in?
- Complete your Connection Blueprint after approval, reply to introductions you accept, and show up for the Circles you join. A little time, given generously.
- Will this get me a job?
- The Career Exchange welcomes opportunities across industries, including senior living and healthcare. Every listing is reviewed before it appears. Exploring and sharing opportunities is free, but a job or introduction is never guaranteed — relationships come first.
- How is this different from LinkedIn?
- LinkedIn gives you a directory and an inbox. The Fold gives you a reviewed community and one reasoned introduction at a time, with a follow-up.
