The Fold exists for intentional connection, mentorship, leadership development and professional growth. Every member — and every paid host — agrees to protect that.
Not permitted
- Unsolicited sales pitches
- Mass solicitation or bulk outreach to members
- Misuse of member information
- Harassment or discriminatory conduct
- Repeated disregard for professional boundaries
Mentorship with respect
Offer mentorship only with the availability you can realistically give, and treat every member's time as valuable — arrive prepared, follow through, and let people know if plans change.
Paid spaces too
- A legitimate professional, educational or mentorship purpose
- Participants understand the purpose before joining
- Any program fee a host charges is disclosed openly
- No scraping or exporting member contact details
- No implied endorsement by The Fold without permission

FAQ
Is The Fold really free?
Yes. Individual membership in The Fold is free. Members can participate in the core community, access foundational resources, explore mentorship, and build meaningful professional relationships without paying a membership fee.
Why are private Circles paid?
Private Circles provide dedicated space, administration, and tools for people who want to bring their own professional communities together. The host pays for the private environment, not for access to the broader Fold membership.
Do participants pay to join a private Circle?
The Fold does not charge participants an additional platform membership fee simply to join an invited private Circle. Independent hosts may operate their own separately priced programs, which must be clearly disclosed.
Can I belong to multiple Circles?
Yes. Members may participate in eligible community Circles and any private Circles to which they have been invited.
What happens if I leave my employer?
Your personal Fold account remains yours. Your former employer may remove access to its private organizational spaces, but your individual community membership remains free.
Can my employer see my personal activity?
No. Employers do not automatically receive access to personal Compass reflections, private mentorship conversations, or unrelated community activity. Organizational administrators only receive access to information and reporting authorized for their organizational space.
Can I create a private Circle without a paid subscription?
Members may participate in existing community Circles for free. Creating and administering a dedicated private Circle requires an active hosting plan or an administrator-approved sponsored arrangement.
Can I cancel my paid Circle?
Yes. Hosts may cancel according to their subscription terms. Before access ends, they should have a clear opportunity to understand what will happen to their private Circle content and participants.
Does paying for a private Circle give me access to The Fold's member directory for marketing?
No. Paid plans do not provide unrestricted access to member contact information or permission to solicit members.
How long does the application take?
